The Savar Campus (the eventual home of DIU) is located at Savar, about 30 km from Dhaka City, the capital of Bangladesh. It has an area measuring about 13 acres of land, located at Balibhadra, about 41/2 km from Jatio Smriti Showdha (National Memorial) adjacent to Savar-Kaliakor Road to the west. The area is surrounded by different educational, research and training institutions such as Jahanginagar University, Atomic Energy Commission, Krira Sikkha Protisthan, two EPZ establishments and above all, by evergreen meadows, foliage, creeks and lakes. A huge 25,000 sft two-storied building known as the Mosque Complex has already been constructed with some sheds around it in order to accommodate the Madrasah Tahfizul Quranil Karim, presently a separate project of Darul Ihsan Trust. Apart from completing the four-storied Mosque Complex, a students hostel is planned to be erected in the near future.
