Faculty of Human Science(FHS) is a social science closely related to other social sciences.It is interlinked to and interwoven with various facets of and often reflected the changes taking place in society.Therefore legal education should be aimed at helping students to develop inter-disciplinary approach for raising the personality and the intellectual ability to understand the society and human situation in a changing social order.

Apart from acquiring a sound knowledge of basic law subjects, students should also acquire a working knowledge of subjects in a variety of disciplines from the humanities and social science and be trained in the basic legal skills of advocacy and rresearch.However the primary objective of legal education is to produce competent and concientious students of law who have absorbed and mastered the theory, of law, its philosophy, its function and its role in a democratic society and could be expected to follow any branch of legal profession, namely bench, bar and teaching.Taking into account realities the curriculum of 4 years LL.B(Hons) program is offered at the Darul Ihsan University that has been designed and developed by experts.

The Programs Offered by the Department of law are:

Bachelor of Laws(LL.B)- 4 years
Bachelor of Laws(LL.B)- 2 years
Master of Laws(LL.M)- 2 years
Master of Laws(LL.M)- 1 year

The Programs Offered by the Department of English are:

Bachelor of Arts(Honours)- 4 years
Master of Arts- 1 year
Diploma in English Language-1 year

Academic Year: The academic year of the Institute is divided into three semesters:

A student is required to obtain a minimum of 2.00 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) on a 4.0 scale for the award of the BBA.

Location and Facilities

At present both the Department of Law housed in Third floor, Sultana Tower-2,Kolabagan Bus-stopage,Mirpur Raod Dhaka which is located in a most convenient, easily accessible place to come from all parts of Dhaka City. This building is elegant and furnished with modern fittings. Library, reading room and all labs are located in this building with modern teaching and laboratory facilities required to run high-standard academic and research programs. The Depts. have the following features:

1. All classrooms are air-conditioned having facility of OHP & Multimedia projection
2. Computer laboratories with broadband internet connection & multimedia projection system.
3. Departmental library is furnished with a large number of text and reference books and magazines.
4. Flexible class schedules for the professionals.
5. A common room with indoor games
6. Other logistics & support services.

Medium of Instruction: The medium of instruction for all academic programs in the Institute of Business Studies in English.

Teaching Staff: The teaching staff of the faculty may be of the following categories:

1. Regular Teaching Staff: Full time Regular teaching staff members in the rank of Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors and Lecturers are appointed by the Vice-chancellor as per recommendations of the Selection Committee, with the Syndicate approval.

2. Adjunct Teachers: Academicians, trainers of professional institutes and professionals of various educational establishments with appropriate teaching and training experience are invited to teach different courses of the Department on honorarium basis. They are considered adjunct faculty members.

3. Visiting Teachers: Visiting Teachers are drawn from renowned Institutions and Universities both at home and abroad on exchange and contract basis for a fixed term.

Student's intake in the Undergraduate course: Students are usually admitted both in the Spring and Fall Semesters
